Mavi Phoenix - Prime [Music Video]

Really dope Austrian rap/pop. Reminds me of early 90s rap the way the beat is structured. One of my fav rap tracks of the moment. Show love and follow Mavi Phoenix on SpotifyInstagram, Twitter, Facebook and YouTube.

Tyga - Dip ft. Nicki Minaj [Music Video]

Tyga was trash during his Kardashian/Jenner time. Now, all the man does is make hits. There's "Taste" with Offset, "Swish," and now "Dip." "Dip" was dope before they got Nicki Minaj for the remix/music video, and now this is an even better song. Nicki came with the flame that was so often missing on her most recent album, Queen, and Tyga, while never the greatest or most clever rapper, crafted a track that's one of the better bops of the past few months.

Kanye West & Lil Pump - I Love It [Music Video] ft. Adele Givens

Is Kanye finally not taking himself so seriously?

Apparently Kanye was a co-creative director of the first annual PornHub awards in LA last night. While @ the show, he debuted this new song for "I Love It" with Lil' Pump. The video, featuring Ye and Pump in oversized box-like outfits walking down a colorful, neon corridor, was exec produced by Spike Jonze, who Ye has previously worked with for the short film "We Were Once a Fairytale" (2009), "Otis" (2011) and "Only One" (2015). The beat for "I Love It" has a Bay area feel, almost like some slowed down hyphy music. It's dope. But I wonder if there's a verse missing because the way the song is edited at the 1:16 section feels a bit off. I fucks with it though. 4 fucks given out of 5.

Jain - Makeba (Music Video)

Jain is a French/pop singer songwriter. The above track, "Makeba" (an ode to the South African singer and civil rights activist Miriam Makeba) was included in a Levi's commercial (included below). Super funky, energetic, dance-inducing. Doesn't really sound like anything else out right now. The video is pretty dope, too. Show love and check out her website, Spotify, Facebook, Twitter and IG.

Fuckery: Sexyy Red - Ah Thousand Jugs ("1000 Miles Hood Remix")

Idk what this is, but it slaps. Just watch. Here's the first verse below, and all the lyrics on Genius.

Makin' my way through the hood
With your boo, all his homeboys think I'm cute
Doo-doo-doo doo-doo-doo-doo
Doo-doo-doo doo-doo-doo-doo
Ridin' 'round 75
totin' his iron Better not nah-not try nothin'
Boom-boom-boom boom-boom-boom-boom
You gettin' feeled too
Boom-boom-boom boom-boom-boom-boom
I coulda killed you
Boom-boom-boom boom-boom-boom-boom
You lost a tennis shoe
Boom-boom-boom boom-boom-boom-boom
We shootin' out the room
Boom-boom-boom boom-boom-boom-boom
And now you on the news

The Top One Percenters Mixtape Volume 22

Twice in one year? I'm officially back on my mixtape game lol. After taking 3 years between volume 20 and 21, we're trying to do things a bit quicker these days. The Top One Percenters Mixtape is up and running. See below for the Spotify embed. Included are superstars like Drake ("That's How You Feel") and Pusha T ("What Would Meek Do?"), but also a lot of summertime flexes and remixes from  Cardi B ("I Like It" Dillon Francis Remix) Dagny, Dua Lipa, Sean Paul (yes, that Sean Paul), Rae Sremmurd and more. Check out the rest of the mixtapes here and follow on Spotify.

DJ Snake & Mercer - Let's Get Ill

DJ Snake is quickly becoming one of my favorite artist/producers. Loved Encore, his debut album, and have really been digging the singles he's been dropping in 2018. "Magenta Riddem" is one of my fav videos of the year. He just released a new track with Mercer, "Let's Get Ill," and if people aren't dancing during the whole goddamn video I'm gonna be pissed.

Uffie - Drugs

Uffie...who is Uffie? It's kind of hard to say. She's a rapper/producer/DJ/designer who's been around for close to 15 years. I had heard a lot of her music back around 2009/2010 when she released her debut (and only) album, Sex Dreams and Denim Jeans. She had a song with Pharrell called "ADD SUV" (below) and a few other tracks. She's back on the scene and getting ready for new things so she just released "Drugs," her first single in 7 years, according to Wiki.

When I listen to "Drugs" the first thing I think of is A) this is a great record and B) this gives me vibes of Robyn's "Dancing On My Own". The melodies, the synths, the lyrics — amazing. Check out her new single above and check out a few other tracks below. Social channels are here: SpotifyFacebook, Twitter, Soundcloud, and Instagram.

Kanye West - Lift Yourself (Bad Royale & Chill Pill Remix)

My significant other hates "Lift Yourself". She hates the "poppity scoop" lyrics and even though I love the song, she hates when I play it. So I had to find a remix that made the track a little more bearable for her. Slide in Bad Royale and Chilly Pill for the trap remix. I wanted to put this on the Top One Percenters Mixtape Vol 21 but it wasn't on Spotify.

Charlie Puth - Done For Me (ft. Kehlani) [Music Video]

I've never really followed Charlie Puth. Honestly couldn't tell you who he was or what other songs he has (edit: after consulting Wikipedia, I've obviously had my head in the sand. Dude has hits! And he developed the core melodies and lyrics for "See You Again." Wiz jumped on it after Puth had already developed the concept).

Having said that, Puth recently released a new single from his sophomore album, Voicenotes, titled "Done For Me". It features Kehlani and Puth singing back and forth about current and ex-mates who never brought enough to the relationship. The melodies and vocals are great, and there's a fantastic Syn Cole remix that makes the song a bit more dance/disco (check it out below).

Anderson .Paak - Bubblin [Music Video]

Anderson .Paak first hit the scene on Dr. Dre's Compton soundtrack a few years ago. He's been steadily making appearances on everything from Apple commercials to the Black Panther soundtrack. He's on the come up.

His new single, "Bubblin," is an infectious and relentless jam with a video that throws back to Redman and his wild antics. It feels like this is the single/video that the label is putting a lot of push behind. Feels like one of those rap videos from 15 years ago when rap videos had a first, second and third act. This will definitely be getting play all summer long. It's also on the Top One Percenters Mixtape Vol 21. Show love and follow Anderson .Paak on Spotify, Twitter, his website and Facebook, and check out the Apple Commercial with "Till It's Over" below.

Dagny - Backbeat / That Feeling When [Music Video]

Dagny is a Norwegian indie-pop artist — one in a long list of epic Scandinavian pop that Sweden (primarily) has become known for producing. How they've gotten so amazing at creating seemingly an entire genre? I don't know, and more importantly, it doesn't matter. All you gotta do it take in the incredible writing, singing and production. I saw Dagny when I was in Norway a few months ago and her show was really dope. Super energetic and epic in an intimate way. "Backbeat" is one of her bigger songs, and "That Feeling When" is her most recent. Show love and check out her SpotifyTwitterInstagramwebsite and Facebook.

DJ Snake - Magenta Riddim [Music Video]

The boy DJ Snake is a fool. Yall remember that "Turn Down for What" music video? Niggas dancing wild as shit and causing minor earthquakes in their apartment building? Well DJ Snake is back with another banger and another music video heavy on dancing and a wild outrageous story. The casting, set direction, costumes, art direction — everything's amazing. It's hard to watch this video and not feel happy and want to dance.

DJ Snake: give us another one, in my best DJ Khalid voice.

Calvin Harris & Dua Lipa - One Kiss [Lyric Video]

Sometimes you hear a song and you know it's a fucking hit. Everyone had that feeling two weeks ago when Drake dropped "Nice for What," and we have it again with the new Calvin Harris and Dua Lipa, who if you aren't familiar with, you better get familiar because she's one of the best and most exciting new artists out right now. All you need to know is she's got one album and she's already getting co-artist credit on a Calvin Harris track. It's not "Calvin Harris featuring Dua Lipa," it's the two of them together.

Anyways, "One Kiss" is one incredible house banger that you're gonna hear all summer long, and deservedly so. CH has been making the jams since day one, and as the weather gets warm, we need more rooftop, pool and late night bangers to play at all hours of the day and night. Both Dua Lipa and Calvin Harris deliver in spades.

A$AP Rocky - A$AP Forever ft. Moby [Music Video]

A$AP Rocky is gearing up for the release of his third album whenever he and his label can find a single that will pop enough to get the needle really moving and the momentum really growing. It wasn't "Bad Company". It wasn't "5 Stars". Will it be "A$AP Forever," which feels like it doesn't so much feature Moby as much as it samples entire sections of Moby's "Porcelain"?

We'll see. Either way, I like "A$AP Forever," as a song and as a video, but A$AP Rocky is overrated as a rapper. @ me, bro.

Little Boots - Shadows ft. Joyce Muniz [Music Video]

This new chillwave techno track from Little Boots just feels sexy to me. Like I need to be in the corner of a dark club just vibing the fuck out. Probably on some purple illicit substances.

Diplo ft. DRAM - Look Back [Music Video]

The homies Diplo and DRAM hook up for a trippy, 70s inspired rock jam that comes completely out of left field for both artists. I vibes with it, tho. Quality over expectations, ya dig?

Natalie Portman Returns to SNL to Rap Circles Around Bitches

Natalie Portman has appeared on SNL a few times. Once was back in 2006, when the Lonely Island first blessed Natalie with the lyrics that she murdered in "Natalie's Rap," a video lambasting her Harvard-educated, clean girl image. She recently visited again, and blessed us with "Natalie's Rap 2.0". Andy Samberg also shared some BTS on how it all went down with Vulture.

Introducing Ängie - Swedish Indie Pop Influenced by Weed and Rap

Angie is a new artist from Sweden. Her sound is indie-pop, her lyrics are like a lesbian Wiz Khalifa and her vibe is 90s goth. That's a weird sentence to write and an even odder combo because I'm crazy into it all. It sounds like it should be trash but there's an introspectiveness to it all that really connects, on top of being really catchy. There's a boldness and aggressiveness that feels very much rooted in rap music. These are some fucking incredible tracks and I'm really, really interested in hearing more and eventually seeing her live whenever she makes her way to NYC.

Here's an interview from GuestList from 2 years ago where she discusses growing up in Sweden, smoking weed (obvi), being suicidal and finding herself. Show love and check out her Instagram, Twitter and Spotify.
