The Top One Percenters Playlist Volume 29

The 29th iteration of the greatest playlist on earth

Every time I try to make one of these playlists, life gets in the way and then BOOM!, 3 months between playlists. Smh. I promise to be better and do these bi-monthly, if not more frequently.

Volume 29 has 28 tracks. Some highlights:

-- Camila Cabello + DaBaby // My Oh My // This feels like the next single and you're probably going to hear it everywhere for the first 6 months of 2020

-- Harry Styles // Adore You // This record is so amazing. Could be record of the year

-- Tyga //Ayy Macarena // Tyga does nothing but drop hits ever since he split with Kylie

-- Miley Cyrus + Wuki // Mother's Daughter Remix // Been a staple of my workout playlists for months

-- TNGHT // Dollaz // This record gets me lit like "Sicko Mode" did

-- Burna Boy // My Money, My Baby // 2020 is the year Burna Boy blows up in America

-- Doja Cat // Bottom Bitch // This track samples Blink 182's "What's My Age Again" and I fucking love it. Her debut album, Hot Pink, is amazing. Highly recommend it

-- Tove Lo // Mateo // A stand out track from an incredible album. Check out Sunshine Kitty

-- Ariana Grande // Breathin' (live) // My favorite track of 2018 gets the live treatment

As always, volume 29 are the top 28 tracks. Previous entries are included further down in the playlist. Check out Vol 28 here.

Commercial of the Day: Spotify - "Horror" + "Crash"

I saw new Spotify commercial, "Horror," in the movie theater, and honestly, I wasn't completely sure this was a commercial. I thought it probably was but couldn't be sure because of social-based movies like Unfriended. The core insight in this commercial is that certain songs take a hold of you and you can't stop playing them, even if your life depended on it. But is "Havana" that song? Hmmmmm

Separately, there's a second commercial, "Chase", that follows the same core insight — some songs, much like love, can make you act irrationally (that's not the actual insight, but a little bit of reverse engineering kinda gets us a little bit half-way there). Take a look below and get the feels for yourself.

The Top One Percenters Mixtape Volume 20

It's been a minute since I created the last Top One Percenters mixtape. But it hasn't been for lack of trying. I'm trying to not do the whole "illegal uploading of music" thing so I tried to make the mixtape in Spotify. Well, the whole thing about about Spotify is that they don't really have remixes. I went to Souncloud to find the remixes and they didn't have a lot of non-dance stuff. So I'm left with a combo of both — YouTube.

Volume 20 is the most dance centric mixtape I've done this far and it's really reflecting the type of music I've been listening to for the past year plus. There just hasn't been enough good rap music for a while. But maybe Kendrick will change that. Either way, check out Florrie, Anna Lunoe, Ladyhawke, DJ Fresh, Years & Years, and more in the Top One Percenters Mixtape Volume 20. Peep the YouTube playlist after the jump.

Song of the Day: Miley Cyrus - Do My Thang (Lemi Vice & Action Jackson Remix)

I waver back on forth on how big a Miley Cyrus fan I am. On one hand, I hate "We Can't Stop", but love "#GETITRIGHT", "See You Again" and "Party In The USA". My new Miley infatuation is this Lemi Vice & Action Jackson trap remix of "Do My Thang". It also helps that they use a Hannah Montana image for the cover art because staring at young Miley while listening to new Miley cracks me the fuck up. Shouts to White Folks Get Crunk.
