DMX - Rudolph The Rednosed Reindeer

You never knew you needed DMX singing Christmas music in your life until you've heard DMX singing Christmas music, specifically "Rudolph, the Red Nosed Reindeer". How did this happen? A few years ago, DMX was giving a radio interview and began singing Rudolph. Someone heard this short clip and thought "EUREKA!," this deserves a studio-recorded version. So here we are, with a studio recorded version. Do we want a full album worth of DMX Christmas music? Depends on who you ask. But I'll put it like this: I hate Christmas music, but I'd bump the shit out of this hypothetical album.

Throwback: DMX - Slippin' [Music Video]

This song appeared on DMX's Flesh of my Flesh, Blood of my Blood. I still think this is one of DMX's best songs, if not the best one he ever did. DMX was never shy about expressing his feelings, about events both past and present, and this is a great example of what enamored everyone with the dark man x when he hit the scene.

Fun fact: this song samples Grover Washington, Jr.'s "Moonstreams", and his estate wouldn't allow any curse words in "Slippin'" so DMX had to release the song edited in order to gain clearance.

The Hood Internet - The XX Gon' Give It To Ya (DMX vs The XX) [Mashup]

There's not a lot to say except DMX, years ago, should have enlisted The XX to produce his comeback album. They capture the dark, sparse instrumentation the dark man x was best known for. Check The Hood Internet for more mashups like this.
