Anna of the North - Lovers [Music Video]

Anna of the North is another dope Norwegian indie/soul-pop artist. Sidebar: I could never live in Scandinavia because of the cold, but damn, do they make incredible pop music. You'd never guess it, but half of the pop music you hear on the radio at any given time was written or produced by someone from Norway or Sweden. Anyways, Anna of the North recently released her debut album, Lovers, and the above title track is the third and most popular single. Show love and check out her Facebook, Twitter, Soundcloud, and Spotify.

Dagny - Wearing Nothing [Music Video]

Dagny is a Norwegian indie-pop artist who released her debut album, Ultraviolet, last year. She's gearing up for the release of something new and has dropped a new single and video for "Wear Nothing," an infectious, summer-vibes, happy-as-fuck, breezy single. I hear this song and want to dance, but then I remembered gangstas don't dance, we boogie. Show love and check out her Facebook, Twitter, IG, Soundcloud, Spotify and website.

Calvin Harris - Feels (ft. Pharrell, Katy Perry & Big Sean) [Music Video]

The new Calvin Harris album is mental, monumental, incredible, sonic, phenomenal, it's summertime, poolside, beach vibes — it's everything. The fourth of July weekend was truly lit because of this and the Jay album. One of the recent official singles is "Feels", a Daft Punk vibing record that sees Pharrell back on his "Get Lucky" feel. Katy Perry and Big Sean are kinda along for the ride, but it's okay because the Pharrell/Calvin connection is like a Chris Paul/DeAndre Jordan alley oop (RIP Chris Paul/DeAndre Jordan alley oops). I mean, think about it — how awesome is a record when Katy Perry and Big Sean are a literal bonus?

Major Lazer - Know No Better (feat. Travis Scott, Camila Cabello & Quavo)

Major Lazer is back with a pretty banging summer EP titled Know No Better. Caribbean-infused like everything they do, the first single, also called "Know No Better," features Travis Scott, Camila Cabello (formally of Fifth Harmony) & Quavo. It took me a few listens to enjoy the song (I almost deleted it) but this has grown on my quickly. Both optimistic and depressing, the track opens with a soft piano riff that is in no way indicative of how the rest of the track will sound — this is a banger than makes you wanna dance on a rooftop. This is NYC so I'm gonna go do exactly that when i get off work in 45 minutes.

Another song, "Particula" is dedicated to baes everywhere.

Barney The Dinosaur xx Big Poppa

Sometimes the internet really disappoints you and you wonder if we're all going to hell. Other times the internet brings you things you never knew you needed and you feel like you could live in it forever. The latter is one of those times. Even though this is old as hell, still gotta say it — what a time to be alive

Calvin Harris Announces 5th Album — Funk Wav Bounces Vol. 1

Calvin Harris just released a trailer for his upcoming 5th album, Funk Wav Bounces Vol. 1, which drops June 30th, about 7 weeks away. He also teases what I believe may be his next single, featuring Future and others. Key players on this album/tracks I'm looking forward to? Katy Perry, ScHoolboy Q, Frank Ocean, Travis Scott, Future (the song playing), Big Sean, John Legend, Migos ("Slide"), D.R.A.M., and Snoop Dogg.

I'm really fucking excited for this album and really fucking geeked for summer '17.

Léon - For You

Very introspective and honest about wanting someone who doesn't want you back. Léon adds to the list of great pop/indie-pop and electronic acts from Sweden. Show love and check out her website, Facebook, IG and TW.

Song of the Day: Lady Gaga - The Cure

So Gaga released a new song a week ago when she was doing her first of two headlining performances @ Coachella. Titled "The Cure", it's a pop song that has the same vibes as a lot of what you're hearing on the radio right now. Nothing like Joanne or Artpop. New direction for her? Thought the same about "Perfect Illusion". Fool me once, shame on me. Fool me twice...

Anyway, this track is growing on me, and like Calvin Harris' "Slide", I feel like I'm going to be hearing and playing this track all summer. But on the other hand, it reminds me of Katy Perry's "Chained To The Rhythm" — solid, if not spectacular, something that works for a bit but doesn't last very long. I wish this meant she was dropping a new album soon, but seeing as she's about to embark on the Joanne world tour, I doubt anything's on the horizon.

Magdalena Bay - Neon (Music Video)

Here's some nice dreamy indie-pop from Magdalena Bay. Show love on Facebook, Twitter, Soundcloud or Instagram.

Song of the Day: ZHU - Palm of My Hand

So ZHU dropped his debut album, GenerationWHY, almost a year ago. It largely came and went for me, as a lot of albums do these days, but one song that's stuck around has been "Palm of My Hand". This song was literally added to my library on July 21, 2016 and it's still in my main playlist, 9 months later. And still getting crazy tick. It starts a little slow, especially for people who haven't heard it, but the slow seductiveness is part of the allure. When it finally picks up 2 minutes in, you're already in a trance — and that's before the female vocalist speaks French for a bit. What is she saying? Who knows; The most vile shit, probably, but it doesn't matter. This is a fucking summertime, let's-turn-up-as-the-sun-goes-down kind of track.

Michael Trapson - If Michael Jackson Was a Mumble Rapper

So there's a rapper who goes by Michael Trapson, and he's a trap version of Michael Jackson, I guess? Idk, you know how Instagram rappers are these days. Anyway, he made a video called "If Michael Jackson Was a Mumble Rapper [Aka "Neverland Dungeon"]", which is odd because he doesn't really mumble like Future or Young Thug. But what he does do like Young Thug is make a mockery of my ears and their tolerance of acceptable material.

The video is entertaining, though, especially in a "I-don't-want-to-get-out-of-bed-yet-so-let-me-peruse-Instagram-for-four-hours" kind of way (which, incidentally, is how I found this gem). If you wanna hear more by Michael Trapson, you can google him.

M.I.A. - P.O.W.A. [Music Video]

M.I.A. just dropped a new track and video for "P.O.W.A." The desert choreography is on point. Simple but effective. Intriguing

Fuck Donald Trump Music Video

This is hilarious. A bunch of Baltimore youth created a "Fuck Donald Trump" song and video. Taken for what it is, considering rap culture, it's obviously not meant to be literal. They aren't going to attempt to kill Donald Trump with a shovel, or "catch [him] with these hollows", but they do show their displeasure with our president.

Mr. Tophat - Trust Me ft. Robyn

I'm really getting into these 10 minute house bangers. Especially when they feature Robyn.

Yung Mavu - Black Magic (Black Harry Potter)

You probably don't know who Yung Mavu is, but that's fine, neither do I. But what I do know is this young, Belgian, 16-year-old has created a trap version of the Harry Potter theme song. And it's pretty fire. The YouTube views don't do its popularity justice because tons of IG/TW accounts that steal content (like FuckJerry) have ripped and reuploaded. That's how I found it.

So, even if you aren't familiar with the plots from all 7 books/8 movies, you generally know enough about the franchise to follow along. More than the song, though, Yung Mavu manages to create a music video that's deeply steeped in the HP world, and also works really well as a completely independent narrative. The long, white, brightly lit hallway is both simple and incredibly magical.

His Facebook is here. Hit the jump for the lyrics.

What So Not x George Maple - Buried ft. Rome Fortune [Music Video]

Idk who What So Not is, but this is why I spend hours downloading random tracks every week, because sometimes you uncover hidden gems by artists you've never heard of in genres you've never listened to with styles you used to not like. With some lovely slow-motion and underwater shots that effortlessly match George Maple's soothing voice, the track and video are about drowning in our indulgences.

Shouts to Pitchfork for debuting the video. You can also catch George Maple on DJ Snake's recently released album, as she's featured/sampled on "Talk".

Snakehips ft. ZAYN - Cruel [Music Video]

ZAYN stays slaying. HIs debut album, In My Mind, was an underrated collection of high-level electro/r&b bangers — "Like I Would" is low-key classic (but the video is trash. Sigh). ZAYN lends his vocals to "Cruel", the latest single from British electronic producers Snakehips, who are best known for "All My Friends" with Tinashe and Chance The Rapper.

Mac Miller - Dang! ft. Anderson .Paak [Music Video]

Mac Miller has been killing it the past few years. He elevated himself from a white rapper (who a lot of hip-hop heads looked at as a gimmick) into a culturally relevant player that gets appreciated for his talents. His new album, The Divine Femine, hits digital retailers September 16. Check out the first single, "Dang!" with Anderson .Paak above, and the second single, "We", with CeeLo Green, below.

Song of the Day: AlunaGeorge - Mean What I Mean ft. Leikeli47 and Dreezy

AlunaGeorge is gearing up for the release of their sophomore album, Remember, and they've slowly been teasing new tracks. First there was "I'm in Control" with Popcaan, then there was "My Blood" with ZHU, as well as the title track. Now they're (she?) back with the latest cut, the female-empowered aka the putting all the fuckboys on notice aka better put some respek on my name aka you touch me I'm putting my finger in your eye aka "Mean What I Mean". They shouldn't have to tell you anything twice, cuz they meant it the first time.

Separately, is George Reid still in the group? I haven't seen him anywhere recently — not in promo material, not on the Instagram. He's barely on the single covers. I guess AlunaGeorge is being marketed as a solo Aluna Francis. I just find that interesting and I'd love to hear the reasoning behind the move.

Remember is on your prefered digital streaming service September 19.
