Disclosure - Magnets ft. Lorde [Music Video]

This Disclosure album...this album is nothing but 🔥🔥🔥🔥. It's really some of the best house-pop records I've heard in a long time. And it's tracks like "Magnets" featuring Lorde that make the album stand out. The album features Lorde, The Weeknd, Miguel, Sam Smith, and more, and each collaboration feels like a legit collab - the tracks feel like 50% Disclosure, 50% the featured artists. I mean, the track with The Weeknd, "Nocturnal", feels like it could easily be a top-10 single from Beauty Beneath The Madness. And the track with Miguel? I can't even begin to describe how crazy that shit is.

You should buy Disclosure's Caracal. It's available now. And when "Royals" came out, I never would've believed you if you told me I'd become a Lorde fan. But lo and behold, I fucking love "Magnets", and "Yellow Flicker Beat (Kanye West Rework)" from The Hunger Games: Mockingjay, Part 1 soundtrack. That entire soundtrack, which Lorde curated, was dope, btw. You should check that out, too.

Kelela - Rewind [Music Video]

Sometimes you just hear a random song and have to do an audio double take because you know what you just heard was flames. This is one of those tracks for me. I'm usually not a fan of the super falsetto, but this has that euphoric-dance feel I generally fall for. Kelela's EP, Hallucinogen, hits 10/9. Show love and check out her Facebook, Twitter, and IG.

Song of the Day: Ellie Goulding - On My Mind [Music Video]

Ellie Goulding is back with "On My Mind", her brand new single as she gears up for the November 6 release of her third album, Delirium. I'm really, really unsure how I feel about this track. I hated it the first time I heard it, but on the second listen the song grew on me with each passing minute. I think my issue is that this song 100% feels like Ellie Goulding should not be the lead artist on this because it feels off brand. It's too produced and too made for radio. But it feels like a hit, and she's trying to really break through the American market, so I get why they had Max Martin produce this track, and half of the album. We'll see if it becomes a hit.

Big Grams (Big Boi + Phantogram) - Goldmine Junkie

Big Boi and Phantogram did a few songs together for Big Boi's 2012 album, Vicious Lies and Dangerous Rumors. They were okay. But the two enjoyed their time so much they formed a group called Big Grams and released a self-titled EP last week. Check out "Goldmine Junkie, one of the standout tracks.

BOOTS - Bombs Away

Boots...that boy stay with the flame. The collaboration I think would be fucking amazing? Boots and Miguel. They both share the rock/distorted R&B style. Boots' debut album Aquaria hits 11/13. In the meantime, catch the title track and catch him on tour (I just copped tix to the 11/13 show).

Hurts - Lights [Music Video]

Hurts is a UK-based synth-pop duo who are gearing up for the release of their third album, Surrender, on 10/9. The second single from the album is "Lights", a Daft Punk-"Get Lucky" seemingly influenced track that captures most of the cool that Neil Rodgers inspired. Paint me squarely in the camp who'll be on the lookout for the new Hurts album when it drops in October. Show love and check out their website and Facebook.

Robyn & La Bagatelle Magique - Lose Control

I can't get over this Robyn & La Bagatelle Magique Love Is Free EP. There's the title track, which I posted a few weeks ago. There's "Got To Work It Out", there's "Set Me Free". Really, this EP is something crazy. When that hook hits? Check out "Lose Control", the EP opener that's cold as ice and smooth as Sharon Stone with an ice pick.

U.S Girls - Window Shades [Music Video]

This song just vibes the fuck out. It's by U.S. Girls, and it's off her upcoming album Half Free, out later this month. The piano/vocal mix reminds me of some 40/50s black and white movie shit, and the video for "Window Shades" matches. Show love and check out her Facebook, Twitter and website.

Empress Of - "Need Myself" + "Standard" [Music Video]

Empress Of is a Brooklyn-based indie/electronic-pop singer-songwriter. She released her debut album, Me, last week, and let me tell you — the shit is straight fire. I'm still making my way through the intricacies of each track, but I can already you that there isn't a single song on this album that I am not a fan of. I like everything. And it's been a while since that's happened. One of the first songs I latched onto is "Need Myself", one of the more scathing tracks about not wanting/needing someone I've heard in a long time. Show love and buy her album here, and check out her Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Spotify, and Soundcloud.
The second track that absolutely goes is "The Standard". Idk, something about the instrumentation reminds me of a mix between the drums of 808s and Heartbreaks and the indie-pop version of those Travi$ Scott beats. But I love it. The hook goes, "Tell me what you see in the mirror when you're feeling faceless/do you see a man who isn't there/living for the sake of living/I can promise you no one cares". I love it. Pitchfork loves it. You will too.

Majid Jordan - My Love ft. Drake [Music Video]

Majid Jordan is a production/singing duo from Toronto who were first put on the map when they co-wrote and co-produced Drake's "Hold On, We're Going Home" back in 2013. Since then, they've been hard at working making a name for themselves and they've released the music video for "My Love", which will likely be the first single from their forthcoming, but still untitled and undated, debut album. "My Love" reminds me of early The-Dream the way it's so well written.

London Grammer - Hey Now [Arty Remix]

If you've heard London Grammar before, you know their musical style is not on the energetic side. But the lead singer's voice, over their production, is like a slow-motion knockout punch from Mike Tyson. And London Grammar over dance beats is like a Mike Tyson punch set to classical music. You're just in awe. And that's the feeling you get when you listen to the Arty Remix of "Hey Now". So much energy, so much life...so much London Grammar crooning. Show love and check out their Facebook, Twitter, Soundcloud and website. Check out Arty's Soundcloud for more.

Nick Brewer - Talk To Me ft. Bibi Bourelly

Nick Brewer is a British rapper. His sound and vibe reminds me of Tinie Tempah — very accessible. Which is how I like my British rappers cuz i can't break through the accent half the time. Check out his Soundcloud, Twitter and Facebook.

Disclosure - Willing & Able ft. Kwabs [Lyric Video]

Damn. Disclosure is on a goddamn roll. Their new album is gonna be flame. There was "Holding On" with Gregory Porter, then there was "Omen" with Sam Smith, and now there's "Willing & Able" featuring Kwabs. I think I was sleeping on them before they started releasing tracks from Caracal (due 9/25) because I don't remember loving their music this much. I guess it's time to revisit their catalog before the new album drops. In the meantime, please, Disclosure, release that track with Miguel.

Song of the Day: Macklemore & Ryan Lewis - Downtown [Music Video]

Macklemore & Ryan Lewis are back! They just dropped the Westside Story-inspired music video for "Downtown", the presumable first single from their upcoming second album. I'm really, really not sure how I feel about this track. Too many gimmicky shades of "Thrift Shop", but dope in its own right for simply being different, original, and not shitty. It's TBD whether it turns about to be great or just not shitty. Take a listen.

Glass Animals - Gooey [Love Taps Remix]

How fucking lit is this? Love Taps is a NYC-based DJ duo who flipped the fuck out of Glass Animal's "Gooey" and launched themselves a career in the process. They first hit the scene earlier this year with their debut single and video, "Back For More". They've been featured on BBC Radio 1, Diplo & Friends, and more. You can download "Gooey" from their Soundcloud page here. Show love and check out their Soundcloud, Facebook, Twitter, and IG.

Back To Delilah [Drake x Florence + The Machine Mashup]

Back To Delilah [Drake x Florence + The Machine] from Tesher on Vimeo.

Someone gives Drake's Meek Mill "diss" song the instrumental and atmosphere it deserves. While the original beat was devoid of energy, this mash up with Florence + The Machine's "Delilah" provides all the ammo Drake should've came with the first and second time around.

BOOTS - AQUARIA [First Single From Debut Album]

I think it's well known in these parts that we're big fans of BOOTS. He was featured on the Top One Percenters Mixtape Vol 17, as well as a few other times. Beyonce's co-producer is back with the first single and title track from his upcoming album, AQUARIA, due out 11/13. Color me geeked. Show love and check out the socials: Facebook, Twitter, IG and his website.

Little Boots - Working Girl [Song of the Day]

Over the past few months I've really been getting into Little Boots and her discography. She recently released her third album, Working Girl. Her shit feels like indie-pop/house because I could see every one of her songs being a remix of a sexy, energetic indie-pop track. I even saw her a few weeks ago on her Working Girl tour (which, if she comes to your city, you should definitely catch). Check out a few tracks from the new album.

Carly Rae Jepsen - Run Away With Me [Music Video]

Carly Rae Jepsen...I used to fucking hate her. Not her, per se, but the music she made. And it wasn't even the totality of her catalog — just that one fucking song.

But it's okay now because she's released a new album (E•MO•TION) and it contains songs that aren't annoying, chief among them "Run Away With Me", the album's second single.
