Prinze George is a Brooklyn-based indie-pop band. I saw them when they opened for Little Boots a few weeks ago at Bowery Ballroom. I wasn't super impressed with them at the time, as the more I heard, the more it felt like diminishing returns. Whomp, right, especially since the songs I liked, I really liked. So I bought their self-titled EP on iTunes and let some of the tracks sink in.
A month later, I feel like I've done a 180 on the band, to the point that I have the regular version of songs plus remixes of that song in my current playlist. The tracks still have a muted feel that I'm not a big fan of — most songs feel like they should be more energetic than they are — but I think that's more of a personal preference than an indictment of the band's quality.
